lpoolfc22, Thanks for clarifying what their "REAL" mission was. Always remember that the CIA, USSOCOM and their contractors are always doing something, somewhere in the world on our behalf. In any event, look for the U.S. to stage some sort of "Emergency" to attack Hugo Chavez. He is expanding his oil pact with neighboring countries which do not play by our (big oil) rules.....you can safely assume that there is a covert mission to overthrow Chavez in progress.....

The religious groups traveling to the Phillipines are going into the southern areas which are mostly Muslim. This is a situation which taunts the hostile players in the area. I know!! I was there for a while... We tried to do great things for the locals, but had to pull back because of security threats. The Muslims there and elsewhere do not appreciate competing religions invading their turf. If you feel brave enough to do it anyway, then I guess your life is in Gods hands, literally....

It is an interesting coincidence that McCain was in Columbia around the same time frame as the rescue operation. Thats suspicious to me, not that McCain had anything to do with it, but the spin factor just does not wash with me. Some of McCains funding sources are notorious for media spin and propaganda. Freedoms Watch, Swift Boat Vets, RJC and thats the short list! We will be flooded this year with election related propaganda. Use critical thinking and do not trust the media on face value!

I just saw the video with statements made by Marc Gonsalves - the one where he calls FARC terrorists. I notice that he was reading the statement - perhaps the text was given to him. What happened to Marc sucks and he is obviously very happy to be free, but I wonder if the situation is being used by US government to create an excuse to go to war in Columbia.

I am well aware of the warnings put up by the U.S. Government - but I'm talking about religious faith. If people go to a dangerous area in order to spread the gospel and die doing it or go to prison because of it then they're suffering for the word of God - which is something that Jesus Christ prophesied. I know one group in Japan which evangelized in Cambodia during 70's - they were held as hostages for some time before being released. I myself perhaps don't have that kind of courage.

1) The U.S. department of State issues warnings for persons traveling to countries that have known terrorist and/or criminal activities. If you or your group choses to ignore those warnings, who is at fault? 2) Most of these countries are suspicious of Americans. They do not care what excuse you give them for your being there (i.e. religious missions etc..) 3) By ignoring State dept. warnings, you endanger the lives of your rescuers and yourself. 4) Japan is not on the watch list!!!

Are you saying that the people who went to the Philipines were not missionaries and went there for other reasons or that they were not smart to go there for God? Being a Christian who evangelizes in Japan, I can understand someone who takes risks in the name of the Lord - in fact I admire them because it is something that I perhaps would not have the guts to do. On the other hand if people say they go there for God and use it as a cover for personal/selfish agenda then I do not respect them.
SKYTRAIN1 (July 7th, 2008 @ 5:08 pm)
Thats a REAL SIMPLE answer....either they were missionaries, covert OPS (i.e. Drug War) or a little of both. This is not hard to figure out. When you intentionally put yourself in harms way, sometimes bad things happen to you. Remember the missionaries who were held hostage in the Phillipines? I watched a religious group just two years ago announce they were traveling to the Phillipines to serve "gods mission". I personaly warned them about the terrorist threat. They did not care not one bit!!!

they have to be debriefed by gov't first. Whatever the 3 americans make public could put the rest of the hostages' life's in danger. FARC still has 750 hostages. Sick isn't it.
andomamern (July 6th, 2008 @ 6:51 am)
FARC kept them hidden for a long time; the first time the hostages were even seen since their capture was in Feb. It was deemed to dangerous to go in for a rescue.
